To use IAV lumits, all you need are your V2X messages in a pcap file. Then, follow these simple steps:
1. Select the appropriate specification from the dropdown list under 'Specifications to be tested'.
2. Upload your pcap file. Tip: Give each file a unique name to help you identify it later.
3. Choose the coupon for the evaluation from your dropdown list.
Accept our terms and conditions and start the upload. Sit back – we'll take it from here. Once the evaluation is complete, you'll receive an email with a link to the results, which remains active for seven days. Don't forget to save everything important and make a backup copy if necessary.
It's that easy! We've designed the process to be smooth and straightforward for you. Not sure how to obtain a pcap file or if it's in the correct format? Feel free to reach out to us at support.lumits@iav.de.

To get the most out of IAV lumits, we recommend focusing on shorter recordings that contain messages from only one C-ITS station and a specific use case. This leads to precise and clear reports. However, if your analysis requires the evaluation of recordings with multiple use cases and stations, IAV lumits is also well-equipped for that. Our goal is to provide you with tailored insights, whether your project demands a comprehensive or targeted analysis.
Currently, our service supports the following versions of the relevant profiles for functional C-ITS interoperability:
C2C-CC BSP Release 1.6.2 (CAM, DENM, MAPEM, SPATEM)
C2C-CC BSP Release 1.6.5 (CAM, DENM)
C-Roads Release 2.0.0 (DENM)
C-Roads Release 2.0.8 (DENM, MAPEM, SPATEM)
C-Roads Release 2.0.9 (IVIM - alpha access)
US Connected Intersection (CI) Implementation Guide
We already cover many C-Roads message formats and use cases, except for CAMs and the 'Toll Station' use case. The exciting part: Our service is a living project that is constantly growing and evolving. Your feedback and suggestions are very valuable to us. Which features do you need for your work? Feel free to share your experiences and priorities with us via support.lumits@iav.de.

First and foremost, it's important that your file is in PCAP format. Once that's ensured, our service can automatically recognize the content of your PCAP files. However, this process sometimes encounters limitations. For optimal results, please adhere to the "PCAP Exchange Options" as specified by C2C-CC and C-Roads for V2X messages and their headers. You can find the details in this document from C2C-CC and C-Roads, especially in section 2.5.
While other headers are also possible, they may cause decoding errors. We are continuously working to expand the range of supported headers.
If you encounter challenges with unsupported headers or are unsure if your file is in the correct format, do not hesitate to contact us at support.lumits@iav.de. Providing a sample file can help us efficiently process your request and determine whether and how we can support a different format in the future.

If your report appears to be lacking in detail or is almost empty, there could be various reasons for this. Don't worry - we're here to help! Feel free to send us a brief email directly to our support team at support.lumits@iav.de.
To assist you promptly, we ask that you mention the process ID (which you can find in the confirmation email after your upload) in your message and attach the relevant PCAP file. With this information, we can provide you with direct assistance. Our goal is to resolve every issue so that IAV lumits can support you in the best possible way!

Our service offers two result formats: a PDF report and an HTML archive. The PDF report organizes the results by C-ITS Station and specific requirements. Each Station ID from the pcap file forms the first level, followed by the evaluation categories representing the second level.
In the 'Evaluation Results' chapter of the PDF report, you will find an overarching summary of the results per C-ITS Station as well as a detailed summary per test category per C-ITS Station. These summaries provide you with a quick overview and indicate areas where it might be beneficial to take a closer look. Links in the document allow you to navigate directly to the respective chapters with detailed evaluations.
The results are organized in a requirement tree structure, where 'X' indicates an error, a checkmark indicates correct implementation, an 'i' general information, and a '!' potential edge cases. An 'X' at a higher branch means you should delve deeper into the tree structure to find the cause of the error. A '!' suggests that an area should be examined more closely.
The HTML report offers a detailed view of each analyzed V2X message in its tree structure, allowing you to dive into each message and analyze results and errors for each data element.
Both formats provide detailed references to the respective requirement and the source document. For example, "RS_BSP_160" indicates the requirement, while the information in parentheses represents the source document and its version.
For further assistance or suggestions on how we can improve our service, please feel free to contact us at any time. We look forward to your feedback!
